Jeep Safari

Jeep Safari

In Kumbhalgarh: The medieval fort-city of Kumbhalgarh, and its surrounding villages and temple-towns, provide a historical landscape that can best be explored through a jeep safari. The safaris transport guests into remote villages where life has remained relatively unchanged for hundreds of years. Well-maintained jeeps, safe drivers and expert guides ensure an interesting safari. The Kumbhalgarh sanctuary is also best explored on a jeep safari.

In Gajner (Bikaner): The Gajner sanctuary, sand dunes and tribal villages can be visited through a jeep safari. The sanctuary is teeming with wildlife and migratory birds; many of which are seen darting through the forest in the night. Sanctuary dinners and repasts make the safari more enjoyable and relaxing.

In Ramgarh (Jaipur): The Ramgarh sanctuary, along a rocky mountain range, is memorably explored through a jeep safari. The mountains are thickly forested and wildlife-lovers are in for a treat as the wild animals can be spotted during the day and night. Special dinners and picnic tours can also be arranged during the safari. The safari skirts along the Ramgarh Lake, famous for its sailing club and competitions.

Horse Safari

Horse Safari

In Ramgarh (Jaipur): From the Ramgarh Resort and Polo Complex, horse safaris can be organized for those who love horse riding and the endurance test that it entails. The Ramgarh Lake, Ramgarh sanctuary and the nearby villages offer innumerable riding trails for safari-lovers. Local riders and trainers accompany the safari to ensure safety of guests and horses.

In Udaipur: Adventure-seeking guests can traverse the bustling township of Udaipur, and historical sites nearby, on horseback. Local guides ensure fruitful visits to important temples, old palaces and havelis, sanctuaries and garden areas that can be covered during daylong safaris. Safe and sturdy horses are selected by the safari-guides.

In Kumbhalgarh: The medieval fort-city of Kumbhalgarh, and the neighbouring villages, can be covered on horseback. The majestic fort, with its 36 km-long unbroken wall, ancient temples and historical sites make the safari a memorable journey into the valorous past of Rajasthan. The horses are patient and sturdy; the guests have to be agile and adventurous to match the mood.

Camel Safari

Camel Safari

In Jaisalmer: Camels and sand dunes are synonymous with Jaisalmer; safaris into the famous Sam sand dunes are a must-do for foreign and Indian tourists. The camels are decorated and brought by their owners; entire families often guide the guests to the sand dunes. Desert wildlife sanctuaries are also an enriching experience. Swiss tents, with electricity and water, and regular tented accommodation are available for the adventurous who want to spend nights out in the Thar Desert.

In Gajner (Bikaner): Gajner Palace is an oasis of greenery with sprawling lawns and tree-lined courtyards. Camel safaris from Gajner Palace foray into the wildlife sanctuary and sand dunes in the vicinity. Guests experience the authentic adventure of desert life just a few miles away from the palace premises. Local guides and trained camel-drivers ensure safety and security for guests as they venture from the palace for desert safaris.

In Bikaner: This is the heart of camel-country; Bikaner is the center for camel breeding. The adventurous can venture into the desert on lively camel safaris. Colourfully decorated camels, with their proud owners, add a festive air to the safari. Trained guides meticulously plan out safaris into sanctuaries and sand dunes around Bikaner. Guests experience the true flavour of timeless Rajasthan.

Boating

Boating

In Udaipur: Hailed for centuries as the 'city of lakes', Udaipur is built on the shores of Lake Pichola. The lake offers opportunities for boating and being guided through the famous island-palaces of Jagmandir, Jagniwas (now the famous Lake Palace Hotel), Mohan Mandir and Arsi Vilas. The western shores of the lake are teeming with birds, many of which are rare migratory birds. Udaipur made history in the early 1990s when the first solar boats were introduced on Lake Pichola. Solar boat charters are available for the eco-conscious. Boat-rides are available through the day till late evenings. The Boat centre at Bansi Ghat provides information and assistance for guests interested in boat-rides and bird-watching.

In Gajner (Bikaner): Gajner Palace is built along the shores of Gajner Lake. The lake shares a natural boundary with a wildlife sanctuary. Boating on Gajner Lake is a pleasure in the mornings and late afternoons, one can watch the animals come to the lakeshore and the birds taking off and nestling in the banks. Gajner Lake also offers solar boat charters; the solar boat in Gajner has been stationed there from Udaipur. It marks a major eco-initiative of the HRH Group of Hotels to popularize solar boats among the guests and tourists in Rajasthan.
