Solar Boats
In Udaipur: In 1995, solar-powered boats were introduced on Udaipur's Lake Pichola for the first time. It marked the first commercial application of solar energy for boating. Environmental engineers from UK designed the boats using photovoltaic cells. Udaipur has the distinction of promoting passive energy systems for commercial boating, for the first time anywhere in the world. Today solar boat charters are available for rides across Lake Pichola. Guest enquiries are welcome at information centers (Sitla Mata Gate and Chandra Chowk North) and at Bansi Ghat, the starting point for boat-rides.
In Gajner (Bikaner): Successful introduction of solar boats on Lake Pichola in Udaipur has been replicated in Gajner at Gajner Lake. The lake, bounded by the wild sanctuary, is ideal for boat-rides and eco-conscious guests are opting for solar boat charters rather than the conventional motorboats. The patronage by guests is a tribute to the pioneering eco-initiatives of the HRH Group

Solar Rickshaws
In Udaipur: The breakthroughs in solar energy applications in Udaipur have been extended to rickshaws, a three-wheel transport mechanism. Solar rickshaws have been developed by the Solar Development Cell, under 'The City within a City' project launched in The City Palace complex by the present custodian of the House of Mewar, Shri Arvind Singh Mewar. The prototype of solar rickshaws will be further developed and will soon be used for transporting guests in The City Palace complex. Solar rickshaws have enormous potential to replace manually powered rickshaws; it would also take Udaipur one step closer to becoming the first 'solar city' of India.

Bird Watching
In Udaipur: Bird-watchers and nature enthusiasts find the western shores of Lake Pichola to be a little paradise filled with winged visitors. Boat-rides that begin from Bansi Ghat take bird-watchers to the nesting sites where many migratory bird species can also be sighted. The island palaces of Jagmandir, Arsi Vilas and Mohan Mandir are also vantage points to witness the teeming bird life on Lake Pichola.
In Kumbhalgarh: The sanctuary near Kumbhalgarh is a delight for wildlife enthusiasts and bird-watchers. The rocky mountain, green foliage and water-bodies attract migratory bird species during the winter months. Rare owls and eagle species have been sighted at Kumbhalgarh. From The Aodhi, a Royal Retreat of the HRH Group, guests can embark on jeep and horse safaris into the sanctuary and fort-city of Kumbhalgarh.
In Gajner (Bikaner): Gajner Lake, and the sanctuary adjoining it, teems with bird-life. Gajner sanctuary has been famous for its wildlife and migratory birds. Sand dunes around Gajner have been the nesting ground for the Imperial Sand Grouse. Bird-watchers, over the years, have been making a beeline to Gajner to satisfy their curiosity about the famous sand grouse. Solar boat and motorboat charters help bird-watchers reach nesting sites along the lakeshores.

 | The Vintage and Classic Car Collection
In Udaipur: The original Palace Garage, near The City Palace Complex, was painstakingly reconstituted into the Vintage and Classic Car Collection in February 2000. The new collection showcases old limousines and rare automobiles belonging to the Royal House of Mewar. All the cars are in perfect running condition. An original Burmah Shell petrol pump is also located on the premises. The quaint pump, still in working condition, adds yet another touch of nostalgia and authenticity to the Collection. The preservation and development of the Vintage and Classic Car Collection demonstrates the sensitivity of the House of Mewar towards cultural heritage conservation.
