Holi [March 03, 2007]
Celebrated in March, it is the Indian festival of spring. The new season is ushered in with prayers, rituals, dances and songs. The present custodian of the House of Mewar, Shri Arvind Singh Mewar, conducts the ceremony of lighting the pious fire, called the Holika Dahan, with dignity at Manek Chowk in The City Palace. Guests and visitors observe the ceremonies and then join the festivities at Zenana Mahal for cocktails and dinner. |  |
Gangaur
It is a celebration of spring in March-April every year. This festival of love spreads a message of happiness through songs, dances and religious processions. The Gangaur Ghat, on the banks of Lake Pichola, is awash with flowers, colourfully dressed dancers and singers. Boat-rides and cultural performances at The City Palace are held to mark the traditional Gangaur festival in Udaipur. |  |

Shriji's Birthday [December 13, 2007]
Shriji's birthday on 13th December has become an event that attracts not only the descendants of royalty from all parts of the country but also many admirers and friends from all walks of life. The birthday of Shriji is celebrated with religious fervor and traditional pomp and show. His private residence The Shambhu Niwas Palace in the morning becomes an open house for priests and community leaders, formal royals, friends and guests from far and near who come to bless and wish him.
