Early rains bring relief
In recent times, this exquisite City of Lakes, like
so many other cities in Rajasthan, has suffered considerably due to a
paucity of rainfall. This year, fortuitously, the rains have come early,
providing relief from the early scorching heat. The rainfall on 1st June
2006 measured 2.8 mm and brought the temperatures down from 42.2 C to
35.5 C. These early rains reflect the upcoming rainy season, which will
once again fill the lakes and bring succour to tourist and citizen alike.

From 9th to 11th June 2006, Pizza &
Pasta
Fiesta at The Sunset Terrace
During the second week of June, a Pizza & Pasta celebration was
organized at The Sunset Terrace. For this special occasion, an
unlimited amount of pizza and pasta were served along with a
selected brand of liquor, at special prices. The venue was
ideal with Lake Pichola as the enduring backdrop, a compelling mix of
Indian classical music in the background and live soccer (the World Cup)
televised on an outsized screen. The festival was a great success, also
highlighted by the presence of the Chef who was there to help guests
concoct their own pastas at a large, Live Counter.
