In its 250 acres, the hotel hosts a private wildlife reserve with rare treats for the nature buff. With a swimming pool, cricket ground and private airstrip, this hotel is already offering its guests delights out of the ordinary. Shikarbadi also hosts a wonderful surprise for horse lovers. In its bucolic environs are the famous Mewar Stables where the celebrated indigenous Marwari horses are bred and trained. Originally bred as battle horses for erstwhile Rajput nobles, the Marwari horse is fiery, proud and intelligent. Today, the Mewar Stables carry offspring from the distinguished breeding stallion “Sultan”. There are currently 35 horses stabled at Shikarbardi. 4 Stallions and 11 mares. |

| Shopping, Sightseeing and Excursions As Shikarbadi Hotel is located close to the centre of Udaipur, there is plenty to see in the city within each reach of the hotel including heritage museums, Lake Palaces, and religious destinations are only a few hours drive away. Spotted deer, peacock, and monkey living in the sanctuary are fed by the keepers at the edge of the lake at 4.30pm each day Day tours and trips can also be organized to Kumbhalgarh, Chittor Fort and Mount Abu. The historic battle site of Haldighati is also an easy drive outside Udaipur city. Udaipur also has a proud heritage as a centre for crafts and performing arts. General weather conditions Rajasthan is known for its hot summers and cool winter climate. The best season to visit is between October and February when the average day time temperature ranges from 18-25 C. During the daytime, lightweight clothing is recommended and a thick woollen shawl in the evenings during the winter months. In the winter months heaters are provided in the rooms at night and in the evenings, a log fire blazes at the Risala and on special occasions a bonfire is lit on the Jhula and main lawn |
