Fateh
Prakash, a grand view of this charismatic hotel, once an important
Palace
Location
Fateh Prakash Palace, located on the eastern shores of the picturesque
lake Pichola appears as a fairy tale citadel. Constructed in the early
twentieth century during the reign of Maharana Fateh Singh, the Palace
was used exclusively for royal functions. The interiors are elegantly
decorated with miniature paintings and portraits, personal artifacts as
well as the armory of the Mewar dynasty. It was as recently as the early
nineteen nineties that this Palace was converted into a Grand Heritage
Hotel.
Accommodation
Fateh Prakash Palace Hotel has 4 Regal lake-facing suites and 6 Regal
suites. The suites are decorated with original paintings and period
furniture from the Toshakhanas (royal storerooms) of Mewar. The rooms
and bathrooms have been newly redecorated. A 70 ton air-conditioning
plant has lately been installed to ensure maximum comfort. Recently, the
hotel added a separate wing called the Dovecote that sits at the edge of
the lake Pichola. The 21 Dovecote suites look out on to an incredibly
panoramic view of the lake, Jagmandir, Jagniwas, Sajjangarh Palace and
the surrounding Aravali hills.
