at HRH Group of Hotels
New Spa facilities at Shiv Niwas Palace and
Fateh Bagh
Ayurveda is a perfect ancient science of
life, the word AYUR literally means life and
VEDA, science or knowledge. Ayurveda briefly
explains the knowledge of the do's and
don'ts in order to lead a healthy life.
Ayurveda also emphasises that "prevention is
better than cure".
According to Ayurveda every living and
non-living being in this universe is a
combination of five basic eternal elements,
called Pancha Maha Bhoothas. It is believed
that the human body is also made up from the
five eternal elements in various
compositions so that every cell of body is
possessed with all the properties of life.
Aromatherapy is the practice of using
volatile plant oils, including essential
oils, for psychological and physical
well-being. Essential oils which are the
pure "essence" of a plant, have been found
to provide both psychological and physical
benefits when used correctly and safely.
Reflexology is the application of pressure,
stretch and movement to the feet and hands
to effect corresponding parts of the body.
Reflexologists view the hands and feet as a
mirror image of the body. By applying a
special technique a reflexologist can break
the patterns of stress in other parts of the
body. The technique is adopted from
auricular therapy, an ancient acupuncture
technique.

The tradition
of 'Sheesha' at Jagmandir
One of the oldest traditions of the Middle
East is the art of Hookah smoking. The
Hookah, also referred to as a Narghile or
Sheesha, has long inspired great discussions
of politics, religion, and daily happenings.
In social gatherings, the passing of the
hose is remarkable- a Sheesha is placed in
the center of a group and smokers pass the
hose to the next in the circle, all the
while exchanging words and sharing ideas in
a playful mode.
The popularity of the Hookah has
sky-rocketed in recent years, mainly due to
the social nature of Hookah smoking. Tobacco
mixed with fruit molasses and honey is used
when smoking and tobacco comes in a variety
of flavors including apple, apricot,
strawberry, cappuccino, mint, cherry, grape,
the list just goes on and on. This mid
eastern delight has recently been introduced
at Jagmandir to ensure that the guests can
stay a while longer to enjoy the beautiful
surroundings while they relax with a sheesha.
