The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation Team Education Trip to New Delhi

On October 12, 2006 a team from The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) led by Mr. Trilok C. Sharma visited the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS), a consortium of 67 world class American Universities dedicated to promote India and Indian studies. The Institute is located in Gurgaon. Dr Vandana Sinha, Deputy Director - Photo Archives, AIIS discussed in detail the research and documentation of more than 150,000 photographs, architectural documentation and musical records. She also talked about the process of preservation of photographic negatives, and showed the team around the library and an exhibition on temple architecture.
The team then visited The National Museum, New Delhi. The Director (Conservation) Dr. S. P. Singh explained methods of conservation of various items including textiles, paintings and coins. He personally showed the MMCF team, the layout pattern, display arrangements and circulation of the museum. The City Palace Museum, Udaipur is now a member of The Museum Association of India.

Club, Gurgaon. The six month progress report was presented and reviewed by the committee. They discussed the next phase of the Master Conservation plan which is to be completed by March 2007.
