Garden Hotel
In the centre of Udaipur, a small and
accessible property
Location
Well located in the centre of Udaipur,
The Garden Hotel, a circular building that
has been a distinguished landmark in the
city is set away from the City Palace
Complex. Located across the edge of Gulab
Bagh, a tree lined landscaped garden spread
across acres of greenery; the hotel is also
well known for its in-house museum - the
renowned Vintage and Classic Car Collection.
The serenity of the location, grace and
warmth of the staff-members make for a
memorable and comfortable stay.
Accommodation
HRH Group of Hotels recently carried out
major renovations to its city property, The
Garden Hotel. The hotel has 29 rooms in all.
21 Standard Rooms and 8 Superior rooms. All
rooms are air-conditioned with furniture
once at the Lake Palace Hotel. The rooms are
well-appointed, offering satellite
television and telecom facilities to keep

Dining
Dining venues at the hotel are
noteworthy. The Garden Hotel has been a
popular stopover for thousands of people
visiting Udaipur, and over the years, the
hotel restaurant has become famous for
serving authentic ethnic cuisine.
A restaurant offers Vegetarian cuisine and
there is also The Garden Bar. Garden Kebabs
“Open air Bar-be-que” was recently
introduced.
Other Facilities
The Hotel offers a number of venues both
outdoor and indoor, to host functions. The
Top Terrace on the circular building is
ideal for casual buffets while the courtyard
is open for special functions and can
accommodate almost a thousand guests.
The Vintage Car Crescent is a distinctive
venue as it utilizes the semi-circular space
of the historic car collection for formal
banquets and sit-down dinners.
Interestingly, this eco-friendly hotel also
has a good collection of solar bicycles
solar scooters and solar rickshaws for
discerning guests to hire.
Shopping, Sightseeing and Excursions
As the hotel is located in the centre of
Udaipur, city sights abound - heritage
Museums, Lake Palaces, and religious
destinations to name a few. Kumbhalgarh,
Chittor Fort and Mount Abu are also
accessible though some distance away. The
historic battle site of Haldighati is also
an easy drive outside Udaipur city. Udaipur
furthermore has a proud heritage as a centre
for crafts and performing arts. It is famous
for its school of miniature paintings in the
Rajput - Mughal style. These paintings,
meticulous in detailing and delicate in
brushwork, are done on cloth, marble, wood,
paper and even leaves. Beautifully crafted
enamel work called Meenakari is also a good
buy in Udaipur. Filigree animals and birds
richly coloured in ruby reds, blues, greens
and whites form a dominant theme. Bandhini
and Lehariya, age-old techniques of tying
and dyeing fabrics are another specialty of
the region.
