Among those present included Rajasthan's Home Minister, Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria ; Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Mr. Vijay Ranjan ; the Divisional Commissioner, Mr. Ram Rakh ; the Collector and District Magistrate of Udaipur, Mr. Shikhar Agrawal ; Abercrombie and Kent's Director Sales and Marketing, Mr. Rajesh Khanna. Guests from overseas & India and media persons were specially invited for this regal festival that is keeping alive the age-old traditions of Rajasthan. The Sufi Kathak performance was preceded by an informative discourse on 'Sufism - Religion of Love' by Ms. Zia Lambrou who came in from Mumbai and is a teacher of sacred Sufi dances. Her talk was on Sufism, a religion suffused with love, whose message in its spiritual lyrics and mystical dance. Ms. Zia's presentation, prior to the dance performance, put the entire evening in a poignant perspective. Kartik Purnima occupies a pride of place in the calendar of festivals organized every year by the Maharana of Mewar Chariable Foundation (MMCF). Holi, Gangaur and Ashwa Poojan are other festivals celebrated with tradition and dignity at the City Palace complex. MMCF established by His late Highness Maharana Bhagwat Singhji Mewar in 1969, has been encouraging the development of Udaipur as a heritage-city. MMCF has launched innumerable developmental activities to enhance the quality of life of the people of this historic city as well as its many visitors.

Anil Bhalla Wedding Celebrations
Amanda Bhalla and Justin Wilkes held their pre wedding celebrations at the island palace of Jagmandir on November 20. The mehendi and chuda ceremony were held at the Pool Deck, Shiv Niwas Palace. A grand procession started from the Sunset Terrace, Fateh Prakash Palace to the Bansi Ghat where the 'baratis' boarded the Gangaur boat to proceed to the Lake Palace Hotel where the ceremony was held at The Mewar Terrace.

Kuoni Celebrates 100 Years
Kuoni held there centenary celebrations at the City Palace on 27th and 28th November 2006. There delegates attended the Mewar Sound and Light Show at Manek Chowk followed by a formal dinner at the Palki Khana on November 27. On the 28th November 2006 there evening at Jagmandir - An island palace on lake Pichola was highlighted with a spectacular show of local dances followed by a lavish dinner ending with a firework display.
