|
India Chapter of YPOs host 'Rajasthan, a royal
affair' at The City Palace Complex.
40 couples attended cocktails and dinner at The
Zenana Mahal followed by a talk on The Kama
Sutra by Dr Pandey. To reflect the subject Chef
Milind Patel had selected a menu using
ingredients considered to be aphrodisiac!
As part of their event, The YPOs held a mock
wedding on December 7, 2006 on the island of
Jagmandir where a procession with horses, camels
and lance men accompanied by a band proceeded to
the jetty before boarding boats to the venue.
Jagmandir had been decorated using all the
accouterments appropriate for a wedding. This
was followed by a lavish dinner. |

Wedding Lunch at
The Durbar Hall
On December 22, 2006 Mr. Gaurav Gupta resident
of Udaipur, presently based in U.S.A, celebrated
his wedding to Ms. Petrara, a craftsperson from
the U.S.A at Navlakha Mahal, Gulab Bagh, Udaipur.
The event was witnessed by both Indian and
foreign guests.
Mr. Gaurav Gupta organised a sumptuous lunch at
The Durbar Hall, Fateh Prakash Palace, on
December 22, 2006. The vegetarian buffet style
lunch included three Jain recipes prepared
specially for the occasion. Local folk artists
performed a cultural performance which was
applauded by the guests.
The true majesty of The Durbar Hall is reflected
in its glittering chandeliers and original
portraits of the Mewar Royal lineage. Framed
along its walls is a cornucopia of Mewar's
history. This encompasses an incredible
collection of seventeenth and eighteenth-century
paintings of the Mewar school, weaponry and arms
that once belonged to its valiant leaders
including Rana Pratap who defied the might of
the Mughal Empire in the sixteenth century.
Glorious canopies on the ceilings narrate
stories from the British Imperial era. The
cusped arches, flowing curtains and the dazzling
ornamentation gives the venue its distinctive
royal quality. The Durbar Hall frequently hosts
weddings and banquets, conferences, business
meetings and receptions. |
