Fateh Prakash Palace wins coveted award

Fateh Prakash Palace, located on the eastern shores of the picturesque Lake Pichola appears as a fairy tale citadel. Constructed in the early twentieth century during the reign of Maharana Fateh Singh, the Palace was used exclusively for royal functions. It was as recently as the early nineteen nineties that this Palace was converted into a Grand Heritage hotel. The Hotel is elegantly decorated with miniature paintings and portraits, personal artifacts and the armory of the Mewar dynasty. Today, Fateh Prakash Palace Hotel is the proud recipient of the National Tourism Award in the 'Heritage Grand' category, a much-coveted honour.

The HRH Group of Hotels has the proud distinction of having won this prestigious award, concurrently, for the last six years. Instituted about eight years ago this highly sought after Award has been somewhat monopolized by the HRH Group. Receiving this tribute reinforces the Group's motto and recognizes HRH Group's endeavour to maintain a tradition of regal hospitality all the while preserving its majestic heritage. As pioneers in this niche market, the HRH Group is perceived a leader and role model by the industry in the country, and is seen to set the standards of “heritage hospitality”.

Ms. Ambika Soni, Central Tourism Minister, presented the awards at an impressive ceremony held at the Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi on January 25, 2007. Representing HRH Group of Hotels was Mr. H A Subramanian, General Manager, Shiv Niwas Palace.
