Maharaj Kumar Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur celebrated his 22nd birthday with traditional decorum at Shambhu Niwas Palace on January 25, 2007. Employees of the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, HRH Group of Hotels, Maharana Mewar Public School, Maharana Mewar Vidya Mandir and other well-wishers congratulated the Maharaj Kumar. In the evening, a close circle of friends were invited to an elegant dinner at Shambhu Niwas Palace.

Cricket match at Shikarbadi
On January 25, a one-day cricket match was organized between The Cricket Institute, Udaipur and Hutchins School, Hobart Tasmania, at The Cricket Ground of the Shikarbadi Hotel. HRH Group of Hotels was the moving spirit behind this event which attracted cricket aficionados from the city who enjoyed the match with great enthusiasm. Mr. Dinesh M N, Superintendent of Police was Chief Guest who presented prizes and mementos to all the participants. He also awarded a trophy to Mr.Russell De Groot of the Australian team who scored 90 Runs and was declared Man of the Match. The Cricket Institute, Udaipur scored 271 runs in 40 Overs with a loss of 8 wickets to win the match. Maharaj Kumar Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur gave a vote of thanks.

Hollywood film shoot takes place in Udaipur
Hollywood stars Owen Wilson and Adrian Brody who won an Oscar for best actor for his role in Roman Polanaski's 'The Pianist', 2002, stayed in the lake city of Udaipur filming Wes Anderson's current film,' The Darjeeling Limited'. The shoot took place at Naramagra Rajmahal, Udaipur from January 11, 2007 to January 26, 2007. The film covers the story of three brothers and their spiritual journey to India. The film's script is written by Anderson and Roman Coppola, son of the illustrious director Francis Ford Coppola. The film crew's Wrap Party was organized at The Zenana Mahal on January 27.
