Fateh Bagh is located within a few kilometres of Ranakpur an important Jain pilgrimage site. It is also near to the city of Udaipur. Ranakpur Jain Temple is one of the holiest Jain sites of India. It was built during the reign of Rana Kumbha in the 15th Century who donated the site to the Jain community. He was considered a giant, amongst men. Under his patronage his court had become a flourishing centre for both performing and visual arts. The temple at Ranakpur covers an area of some 48,000 square feet with twenty four pillared halls. The 1444 columns are intricately carved with no two alike.
Fateh Bagh is also within easy driving distance of Kumbhalgarh Fort. Built in the 15th century also by Rana Kumbha, this vast bastion was renowned for its inaccessibility. Other important pilgrimage sites are Shri Eklingji temple and Nathdwara, on the banks of the river Banas. Nathdwara has the most celebrated Vaishnava shrine of Lord Krishna or Shri Nathji. It is a major pilgrimage destination and also a centre for traditional Meenakari (enamel) work.

General weather conditions:
Rajasthan is known for its hot summers and cool winter climate. The best season to visit is between October and February when the average day time temperature ranges from 18-25 C. During the daytime, lightweight clothing is recommended with a thick woollen shawl in the evenings during the winter months. In the winter months heaters are provided in the rooms at night and in the evenings, a log fire blazes in the Restaurant and garden dining areas.
