Shikarbadi Hotel, Udaipur

Shikarbadi Hotel is a Royal Retreat of the HRH Group of Hotels. The entire property was settled at the foothills of the ancient and historic Aravalli mountain range which provide a picturesque backdrop to this sanctuary-resort. Formerly a hunting lodge of the royal family of Mewar, Shikarbadi during the 1970's was the private residence of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur; 76 th custodian of the House of Mewar and Chairman of the HRH Group during the 1970’s .
As recently as 1976, it was converted into a hotel. The wildlife at Shikarbadi Hotel - spotted deer, Nilgai, wild boar, monkey, peacock and migratory birds add an unmistakable touch of adventure to a hotel that is situated away from the hectic pace of city life.
Unique to it, the Hotel also has a private airstrip and houses one of the oldest polo grounds and cricket fields of Udaipur.

Accommodation
25 rooms including Chalet style accommodation in 14 air-conditioned deluxe rooms make up the singular architectural style of this retreat. The Hotel also has 4 large suites and 7 deluxe rooms in the original building itself.
The 14 chalet style rooms are in a separate wing overlooking a part of the wildlife reserve. All these rooms have been completely refurbished during this past summer, using soft furnishings and wooden flooring. Rooms in the original building have also been renovated with new carpets and soft furnishings.Internet facilities are available in the Hotel.

Fine dining
The Hotel has two fine dining Restaurants and a Bar that is located in the original building. The walls of the Wilderness Bar are covered with photographs and trophies of cricket and polo matches which were organised on the grounds of the property in the late nineteen fifties and early sixties.
The restaurants are surrounded by wildlife sanctuary. Overlooking the swimming pool is the Baithak restaurant which provides an excellent natural ambiance as it is surrounded by the wildlife sanctuary on three sides. The restaurant which can seat up to 45 people, serves Chinese and Continental cuisine as well as a selection of snacks. The other restaurant appropriately named Cheetal gets its name from a species of deer indiginous to the sanctuary. Located adjacent to the deer park, the restaurant serves authentic Indian cuisine with barbecue (tandoori) snacks. Risala is an open-air restaurant built around a campfire. This restaurant is a unique venue and can accommodate large gatherings of people.

Other Facilities
Located away from the frenetic energy of the city, Shikarbadi offers its guests privacy and comfort in tranquil surroundings. In its impressive 250 acres, the hotel hosts a private wildlife reserve with rare treats for the nature buff. With a swimming pool, cricket ground and private airstrip, the Hotel offers its guests exceptional delights! Shikarbadi also hosts a wonderful surprise for horse lovers.
