Continuing with the success of Rajasthan's first-ever Son et Lumiere - The Mewar Sound and Light Show - Udaipur's City Palace Museum and Crystal Gallery Museum are now set to launch 'audio tour guides' to enhance the experience for visitors to these unique museums within this heritage-city.
The City Palace Museum, spread over 20,000 sq. metres is a series of palaces built over five centuries. It is a rich repository of rare paintings, murals, artefacts, arms and ammunition, and memorabilia accumulated over the centuries by the Custodians of the House of Mewar. The hour-long audio tour guide produced by Lady Penelop Street, director of the Sydney-based Narrowcasters Pvt. Ltd, highlights the key facets and details of the Museum's architectural heritage and its priceless exhibits. The audio tour guide will be available in English, French and Spanish languages from early October 2007.

At The Crystal Gallery, housed in Fateh Prakash Palace Hotel, the audio tour guide will be 30 minutes in duration. It will be available in English, German, French and Spanish. Visitors will be explained the history and stories behind this unique private collection of 19th century crystal manufactured by F&C Osler. The Crystal Gallery collection includes remarkable objets d'art and customized items used by the royal household. The famous crystal bed, and how it came to find its place in The Crystal Gallery, is a fascinating story narrated in the audio tour guide.

The audio guide tours, especially as it is multi-lingual, will go a long way in enrichig the visitors' experience," he added.
