The audio tour guides for both The City Palace Museum and The Crystal Gallery Museum utilize the most modern MP3 technology. The guide itself is easy to use and navigate; and allows visitors to monitor their experience personally. The Narrowcasters' team worked for almost 6 months on this pioneering project with the intense involvement of over a dozen producers, directors and sound recordists from Australia and India. The audio tour guides include short interviews with Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur. "It has been a tremendous experience working on this project" said Lady Penny Street, director of Narrowcasters Ptv Ltd. "These audio tour guides have the technical capacity of storing almost 40 hours of programming. We will be offering more options and languages in the future for visitors to Udaipur."
"The audio tour guides," said Thakur Bhupendra Singh Auwa, Deputy Secretary MMCF-Administration, "will add a new dimension and will go a long way in offering world-class services to visitors, especially foreign visitors, who spend hours at the Museum and The Crystal Gallery." The City Palace Museum, maintained and managed by the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) is acknowledged to be one of the finest palace complexes in the world. It is a living palace complex. Established by His late Highness Maharana Bhagwat Singhji Mewar in 1969, the MMCF has been facilitating the development of Udaipur as a heritage-city. It has launched innumerable developmental activities to enhance the quality of life of the people of this historic city. Education and outreach programmes, health care, heritage preservation and conservation, museum management and preservation of places of religious worship are some of the key activities of MMCF.
